The Interior Alaska Regional Council (IARC) serves as the advisory council to the single state Alaska Workforce Investment Board (AWIB) for the Interior Region. ( For more information about the responsibilities, mandate and purpose of the regional councils, please see the document, Alaska's Regional Councils for Workforce and Economic Development , on the State's website .) IARC membership includes representatives from organized labor, private industry, economic development, non-profit organizations, local and regional native organizations, faith-based organizations, secondary and post secondary education, and local government.

The mission of the IARC is to strengthen the connection between Economic and Workforce Development and to address the needs of Interior Alaska workers and industry through regionally collaborated employment and training strategies.
